So also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, BUT TO BRING SALVATION TO ALL WHO ARE EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM. Hebrews 9:28 [NLT]
At Jesus’ first coming, he came to deal with the problem that separated man from God – Sin! His name in Hebrew reads Yeshua which means Saviour! A saviour is one who brings salvation.
By believing in him, we are crossed over from perishing to been saved. Our sins are taken away and we are reconciled to God. The issue of sin is settled.
When he comes back, the scripture makes it clear that he isn’t come to deal with the issue of sin but to put a completion to the salvation of those who are waiting for him. Most of us think waiting for him requires we dealing with sin! No, Jesus already did that… Waiting for him is to believe that he has dealt with sin and he is coming back… Luke 18:8, Jesus asked “when I return, will I find faith on earth?” Will I find people who are eager about me? People who absolutely trust in what I have done?
Are you eagerly waiting for his return, are you saying “COME! LORD JESUS?”
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe that my sins are forgiven, I believe you are coming back again. I am eager for the completion of salvation. In all confidence, I am waiting for you! Amen.
