Small Beginning…

In my few years on planet Earth, one thing I have discovered is this – Nothing great happens overnight, it starts with “small beginnings”.

Before you disagree and say this is heresy or ask ‘How about the GRACE of God?’ I totally agree with you that the GRACE of God can move a man within minutes, however, there is a place of waiting where a man is (usually is lowest point) before he has an encounter with Grace.

It is with this background we desire to tell you two things

  1. God has a plan for you
  2. God’s plan for our ministry

We will focus on the first one and look at the other one later

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (NIV)

Have you ever wondered ‘What if God created man before he created the earth, or if God created man before the plants? God took time and didn’t arrive big by creating everything in one day – Of course He has the power to. However, He took it a step at a time and after creating all, “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good”.

God started from nothing, then to something that was formless and void to something we all look at today and we appreciate. He had a beautiful picture of what He wanted when He started creating the world.

The same way, God has a beautiful picture of where He is taking you to. Where you are now might look so dark and no future in sight, God is talking to someone that “Do not despise these small beginnings…” (Zechariah 4:10a), I am taking you to heights you never imagined.

He confirms it in Ecclesiastes 7:8 “The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride”. The end is more glorious than the beginning, so erase that suicidal thought, self-pity and destructive behaviours

5 THINGS TO DO DURING SMALL BEGINNINGS

  1. Be Patient
  2. Trust God
  3. Search the Bible for God’s promises
  4. Be Obedient
  5. Spend more time with Christians who will encourage you to have faith in God
